"Rheologische Modelle zur Beschreibung des Verformungsverhaltens von Asphalten";

To describe the deformation behavior of hot mix asphalts (HMA) analytically gains more and more importance in road material engineering. Conventional material testing which is time-consuming and demands high financial efforts can be partly replaced by FEM-simulation. If an adequate rheological model is used, it is possible to predict the material behavior at high temperatures. This leads to a realistic rutting-prediction. To begin with this paper shows the basics of rheology and simple rheological models (Maxwell, Kelvin-Voigt, Burgers). On this basis more complex models containing fractional dashpots (Power-law, Huet, Huet-Sayegh) are discussed. Finally a method how to use these models to obtain material parameters from fundamental material tests for different types of HMAs is presented and results will be discussed.
